Converted from Queen Anne stables in 1798 Rathsallagh is a large 4-star Grade A country house set in 530 acres of peaceful parkland with its own walled garden — all surrounded by the magnificent Rathsallagh Golf Club. It are perfectly located central to some of the most beautiful countryside in eastern Ireland. Measuring 7200 yards from the Medal Tees Rathsallagh is one of the best laid out courses you could play, several lakes and small streams meander their way accross the fairways creating a USPGA feel about the design and the greens are immaculate to putt on. Or as one of our visitors commented recently - " like putting on velvet". The undulating countryside creates the perfect golf terrain which proves a great test for golfers but is fair to all.

Recommended by international good food and hotel guides Rathsallagh is also a member of Ireland's prestigious Blue Book. The food at Rathsallagh is country house cooking at its best — game in season and fresh fish are specialties. The dining room has an impressive wine list featuring all the great appellations. Breakfast in Rathsallagh is an experience in itself and has won the National Breakfast Awards three times.

The food at Rathsallagh has been described as New Irish Country House cooking though it is much more international than that. We have a brigade of young and enthusiastic chefs in our kitchen who are constantly seeking to improve the variety and style of our menus.
Designed by Christy O'Connor Jnr and Peter McEvoy the golf course at Rathsallagh has rapidly taken its place as one of the top golf courses in Ireland. After only two years in operation it was officially listed in the top 30 (out of over 350) of Ireland's Greatest Golf Courses of 1997.
